Chris Bayne is one of seven children. Among one of his many passions besides the New York Mets and Islanders, Chris has an obsession with beer. Like many lovers of beer, he got the bug to start home brewing in 2004. His growing love for the craft and attention to details led to small get togethers in his garage for friends and neighbors to “try out” what he made. Those gatherings quickly grew into events such as Baynetoberfest where folks could gather together in community around Chris’ beer with familiar faces and new.
After building up a repertoire of exceptional craft brews, Chris decided to see if his passion could become a profession. In 2014, Bayne Brewing was born. It is a family affair supported by his loving wife, siblings, and cousins. For those that have been smart enough to visit the taproom on Sundays, you have tasted the culinary stylings of Arlene Bayne, Chris’ mom.
Today, Chris’ passion and skill have only grown. His beers have gained strong recognition from local groups such as Brew Carolina, Carolina Beer Guys, Charlotte newpapers and more. But one thing hasn’t changed. Bayne brewing is still about friends and neighbors, old and new, all gathering together around his beers.
BAYNE SUPPORTS GORILLA CONSERVATION
We at Bayne know that we are citizens of our community and of our planet. We Bayne’s know cousins! Our immediate family alone has 15 cousins. The gorilla is essentially our cousin on this planet, being the one of the closest to our DNA after Chimpanzees and Bonobos. Our cousin’s are in trouble and are on the brink of extinction. No family turns their back on their cousins. That’s why Bayne Brewing Company donates 1% of its annual profits to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International.
