Donna the Buffalo w/ Josh Daniel & Mark Schimick Project at Live on the Green
Jun 29 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Live on the Green brings FREE, live musical performances to Uptown Charlotte’s First Ward Park! Bring your friends and family, enjoy local food vendors and local craft beer, and take in the sights and sounds of Uptown.

On June 29, we will be joined in the park by The Josh Daniel/Mark Schimick Project (7 PM) and Donna the Buffalo.

The Josh Daniel/Mark Schimick Project is a fiery string band that blends bluegrass, soul, reggae and rock n’ roll into a style uniquely their own. Respecting their Appalachian roots, the multi-instrumentalists blend their harmonies and intricate string work into music that can appeal to a variety of music fans.

Donna the Buffalo’s music can be described as groove-heavy and danceable. They have roots in old time fiddle music, which evolved into a soulful electric American mix infused with elements of cajun/zydeco, rock, folk, reggae, and country.

Von Hunter at Birdsong Brewing
Jun 29 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

I’m a life long lover of music.  I ‘ve been playing guitar for about 20 years and formed my duo project Von Hunter about 2 years ago with my long time band mate drummer Matt Wood.  Rock and reggae music have always been influences in my life and I mold them into the many other styles of music I play.

Jamorah at Smokey Joe’s Cafe
Aug 27 @ 9:30 pm – 11:30 pm
Jamorah is made up of four musicians that love to jam. Influenced by many genres, they get together on Mondays at Smokey Joe’s Cafe in Charlotte NC to relax and have fun playing the music they love the most.
They have bands of their own, and live lives on their own, but on Mondays they release their inner souls and let the music play the band.
Guests come on a regular basis and they allow the band to open up and let the instruments do the talking.
Guitar, Keys, Bass, Drums are the root and are joined by percussion, horns, and more to make it a full sound.
Expect to hear Rock, Blues, Jazz, Reggae, and Latin styles. Of course, they all share the love for the psychedelic sounds of Jerry Garcia and the mastery of Frank Zappa which makes it for an interesting medley of jams. When the ‘latin mafia’ show up with percussion, there is a latin vibe much like Santana.
