42- Tribute to Coldplay at Alive After Five
Aug 10 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

We are ’42,’ a tribute to one of the finest bands in the world, Coldplay.

We don’t view ourselves as another ‘Tribute’ band on the bill or an act of imitation. Instead, we pour ourselves into every song & performance out of our own genuine love for Coldplay & their music. The raw energy and emotion we devote to each song is sincere & we’re insanely humbled to have this opportunity to bring this to live stages all across the world. As ardent fans, we’ve set out to be the tribute band that we ourselves would be clamoring to see time after time. We strive to leave no stone unturned for a well rounded experience covering Coldplay’s extensive body of work, ranging from Parachutes to Prospekt’s March. To put it simply, it’s 42’s goal to bring the greatest glimpse into the Coldplay experience and we hope to translate to our audiences the elation it gives us to play their amazing work.

So please come & share with us these very special songs in celebration of one of the greatest and most influential groups of our time!

Tosco Music Party
Sep 15 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Come experience a sense of community through live music! Each Tosco Music Party is unique. Tosco Music Parties showcase an eclectic mix of music styles and engage the audience with singalongs throughout the evening. Three times each year (winter, spring, and autumn), Tosco Music Parties feature performances of one or two songs by a variety of approximately 15 scheduled acts (professional and amateur). Every June, Tosco Music hosts a Beatles Tribute in the same format – only all Beatles songs for every performance and singalong!

Three decades ago, John Tosco invited a few of his musician friends for an informal song circle/jam session in his living room. These “music parties” became a way to gather with friends and fellow musicians to create an evening of acoustic music. What began in John’s living room grew to large venues and now takes place at the 1,200-seat Knight Theater: 430 S Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.

Tosco Music is a resident company of Blumenthal Performing Arts as well as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been enhancing Charlotte’s community through music for over 25 years. In addition to the family-friendly music events, Tosco Music coordinates outreach that includes fundraising for youth music scholarships, singalong music parties at senior centers, a ticket scholarship program, and monthly open mics for families.

A 10% discount is available for students, groups of 10 or more, or when purchasing tickets to 2 or more shows at once.

Dweezil Zappa
Oct 28 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Dweezil Zappa’s ‘Choice Cuts’ tour has been curated by Dweezil for an all-new show filled with some of rock legend Frank Zappa’s boldest compositions. Dweezil calls them ‘a collection of the meatiest tracks,’ which with he plans to satiate the appetite of Zappa fans old and new.

Dweezil Zappa grew up listening to the music his famous father was working on or listening to, but soon found himself transfixed by the influences of the Beatles, Queen, The Who and Jimi Hendrix. And like many aspiring guitarists of his generation, Dweezil’s ear was caught in a stranglehold by the trailblazing guitar styles of Edward Van Halen and Randy Rhoads.

Dweezil’s most recent album release (2018) is ‘Live In The Moment II,’ a guitar solo compilation record in the style of his father’s ‘Shut Up And Play Yer Guitar’ discs. Live solos interspersed with studio tracks and interstitial palette cleansers.

VIP Soundcheck Party purchase options are available for these performances. Purchasers will be invited to an exclusive soundcheck performance prior to the show and will receive a commemorative poster from the concert.
