Lin-Manuel Miranda releases star-studded benefit song for Puerto Rico

To help with hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Lin-Manuel Miranda has released a benefit song “Almost Like Praying.

Besides Lin-Manuel Miranda, the track features a whole array of artists and actors: Marc Anthony, Ruben Blades, Camila Cabello, Pedro Capo, Dessa, Gloria Estefan, Fat Joe, Luis Fonsi, Juan Luis Guerra, Alex Lacamoire, John Leguizamo, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Moreno, Ednita Nazario, Joell Ortiz, Anthony Ramos, Gina Rodriguez, Gilberto Santa Rosa, PJ Sin Suela, Tommy Torres and Ana Villafañe.

Now, with “Almost Like Praying,” Miranda gets to help raise funds directly. Proceeds for the benefit song will go to The Hispanic Federation’s Unidos Disaster Relief Fund.

Many of the artists featured on the track also dug deep into their own pockets to help Puerto Rico. Jennifer Lopez, for example, donated $1 million. Marc Anthony also joined forces with Lopez to create “SOMOS UNA VOZ, an initiative designed to get shelter, medicine, communication, etc. to Puerto Rico asap. Fat Joe used his network of friends and artists (including Jay-Z) to raise two million pounds of supplies.
