Sharon Van Etten is reissuing her debut album

Sharon Van Etten, now four albums into her career, has just announced plans to reissue her debut album. Originally titled Because I Was In Love, the new version will be called (it was) because i was in love. The album was first released in 2009, but it never quite found a big audience like subsequent releases did, which is why she has decided to reissue it.

Of the new reissue, Sharon Van Etten says: “It was an innocent and beautiful record, which some of my newer fans may not even know about. This seemed like the perfect time to remix and remaster it, and give it a new life.”

The new version will feature new cover art, liner notes, and two bonus tracks. The physical vinyl version will be available from Sharon Van Etten’s online shop as well as a limited exclusive pressing from online retailer/vinyl subscription service Vinyl Me, Please. Pre-orders for the Vinyl Me, Please version will be coming November 9th.

(it was) because i was in love hits all digital outlets and officially comes out November 17th.
