On the heels of a bold new album, Pray for the Wicked, Panic! at the Disco reimagined Weezer’s 1994 jam “Say It Ain’t So” for an intimate set at the SiriusXM Studios in New York. Flanked by backing instrumentalists, frontman Brendon Urie coolly meanders between each mellow verse to belted chorus, strumming rhythm on an acoustic Fender.
It’s a performance that proves why Broadway was inevitable for the vocalist; showcasing his wide range, Urie’s trills and falsettos are on full display in this cover, where emo collides with alt-rock.
