Early last month the musical collective/project of PEOPLE launched a website devoted to a host of musicians sharing unreleased songs. The songs were to be put up without preamble on this new streaming site, which was a deliberate move to shift away from the general rollout of new music. They describe the site as a “steadily growing group of artists, freely creating and sharing our work with each other and everyone.” PEOPLE is a project spearheaded by Aaron and Bryce Dessner (The National) and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), so naturally a lot of music from those camps has appeared already. One of the biggest surprises was new music from Big Red Machine, a project by Aaron Dessner and Bon Iver. They shared four new songs on the site last month and now all of them are available to stream everywhere else.
Justin Vernon has stated that the four new songs are part of a 10 song full length from Big Red Machine set to come out later this year. He said they’d be putting up new music throughout the rest of the summer. And so far we may only have the four songs, but soon enough there will be more. Now for those who weren’t familiar with/don’t want to bother with the new website, all those tracks are up everywhere. Here’s a link to stream them all on Spotify. Or you can just give a listen to each one individually below.
