Tyler, The Creator’s last album Flower Boy was where he seemed to finally come into his own. The album is filled with creativity from its experimental sounds to its more obscured lyrical themes. And it’s been seeming like Tyler’s creative period is far from over. Over the past few months, he’s shared unreleased tracks here and there. Some are more single-like like “Okra,” while others are drafts he never fully completed. Today, we’ve got another one to share with you.
This time around, it’s just billed from Tyler himself as “another thing I had sitting on a hard drive.” The new track, titled “435” again shows the more loose, freewheeling side of Tyler, which is always welcome, especially lately. If these throwaway, one-offs are any indication, we’re just at the start of Tyler’s most creatively inspiring period. Even though we’re likely nowhere near a new album, it’s surely going to be one to get excited about. Even though as Tyler says prefacing the new song: “this is not an indication of how future things will sound.”
Give “435” a listen right below here. And here’s to hoping more unreleased songs keep coming.
