Wye Oak released their truly great sixth album The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs early last month. It works flawlessly as a blend of their newer electronic sound with their rock-oriented past. On this LP they really work to combine all the elements of what you’ve heard from them and wind up with something breathtakingly fresh. Even though the band have been enjoying a good bit of praise for this album, maybe it still flew under your radar. Now the band have dropped a nice new video for early single “It Was Not Natural” to ease you in.
“It Was Not Natural” is a clear highlight of the album. Originally shared as a pre-release single, the track now has a beautifully shot new video to go with it. The band shared this little statement about the song’s meaning:
“This song is about pulling the threads that hold the fabric of our world together. In our new video we have created a visual representation of a truth discovered in this process—that sometimes it is the most mundane things that are strangest of all.”
