The ever-incredible Neko Case has a new album coming out in a few weeks. Dropping June 1, Hell-On will be Case’s seventh studio album, and comes a long five years after her last solo LP. We’ve already gotten two nice singles from the project, and today we’ve been gifted a glorious third one. The new track is called “Curse of the I-5 Corridor,” and it’s the best one out of the batch released so far.
“Curse of the I-5 Corridor” runs at a glorious seven minutes and features some impressive guest vocals from Mark Lanegan. Case and Lanegan’s vocals ebb and flow with one another as the instrumentals build up and down before hitting a fantastic jam-filled outro, which is something rarely heard in Case’s music. Their vocals are at distinct ends of the spectrum, but that difference plays to the song’s strengths. While it may seem strange to share what is sure to be the centerpiece of the album ahead of the release, why complain when it’s this great?
Alongside the single release, Case has also shared yet another short teaser video for the track. For some reason, no full official videos have been released for this LP. Whether or not we’ll be getting the complete versions sometime in the future is totally up in the air. But you can go ahead and watch the 16 second teaser right after the full song below.
