Fleet Foxes share “If You Need To, Keep Time On Me” video

Fleet Foxes made a somewhat triumphant return last year with their hyped up third studio LP Crack-Up. Despite receiving middling reviews, the album is still a beautiful work. Its dense arrangements, and complex lyrical themes are hard to take in with even five listens. So, unsurprisingly it went from being a hotly anticipated album to being one that was almost forgotten by year’s end.

But hey, it’s not all heady ideas and complicated arrangements. For proof look no further than the slow, simpler ballad “If You Need To, Keep Time On Me.” The track is the sparsest on the LP. It may not be an obvious candidate for a single, but the band have decided to make it one anyway with the release of a new video. The video is mostly animation, with outdoor scenery rising and falling as the music adds new sounds bit by bit. It’s a rather nice compliment to music. Check it out below.
