Laura Veirs shares new song with Sufjan Stevens “Watch Fire”

Laura Veirs has been steadily releasing folk music since her debut in 1999. Over the years, she’s remained one of the best, yet most underrated artists of our time. But it was possibly 2016’s incredible collaborative album with Neko Case and k.d. lang case/lang/veirs that brought her to a lot of people’s attention. Now, though, she’s back at it with her upcoming tenth studio album The Lookout.

Laura Veirs hasn’t released a solo album since 2013’s Warp and Weft, but already she’s shown that she’s ready to please old fans and gain some new ones. Previously, she’s shared the lead single “Everybody Needs You,” but today she’s shared another new song from The Lookout. The new track is called “Watch Fire” and is notable for including some vocal parts from the great Sufjan Stevens. It’s a nice upbeat acoustic track that showcases the interplay between two brilliant voices. Check out the lyric video below.

The Lookout drops April 13 via Raven Marching Band Records. Pre-order it right here.
