The National had a great year in 2017, releasing their excellent seventh studio album album Sleep Well Beast. That LP not only pleased fans with what they love about the band, but it also provided a new soundscape for the band to play around in. Unsurprisingly, it wound up as the number 1 alternative rock album of the year on this very site. But that was all last year. What’s in store for the band in 2018? Well…
A few weeks back The National announced that they were going to be putting on their very own music festival, titled Homecoming. It will be taking place April 28 and 29 in the band’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Pre-sale tickets for the festival went on sale back in December, but the only announced artist was The National themselves, who would be performing two unique sets across both nights. Now though, the band have shared the full lineup of acts.
Alongside The National, the festival boasts incredible acts like Father John Misty, Big Thief, Julien Baker, and more (with even more bands to be announced later). Check out the full lineup down below. Purchase tickets for the Homecoming festival here.
Additionally, guitarist for The National Bryce Dessner has had his own festival going on in Cincinnati, MusicNOW, since 2006. The MusicNOW festival for 2018 will be held at various venues throughout the city from April 27-29. The lineup can be seen down below. Tickets for the festival will be on sale sometime in early February.
